Feeling confused by some of my posts and what's actually going on? Me tooπ To be honest half of the time I have no idea what's actually going on or happening - life is very much a case of learning as I go along at the moment and I've got used to rolling with the waves of whatever occurs with my health. π€·π»ββοΈ
I can however share a few things that might make things easier to follow though, especially if you're new here (hello!)
On Monday I was re-admitted to hospital for a much needed nutritional boost, as it was medically unsafe to stay home and grow any weaker. π
So far I've had my third PICC line placed yesterday, this line is threaded through the vein, up my arm, across my chest and finishes just above my heart to deliver nutrition via the bloodstream, completely bypassing the digestive tract (i.e stomach and bowels) π
There are no plans as of yet to do my surgery on this admission, however with it being a lengthy admission there is potential for the opportunity to arise but isn't currently part of the plan.
Speaking of length, I've no idea or figure on how long I will be in for. I've been told to prepare for a lengthy admission so I know I'll definitely be here for at least six weeks or so but it could be a few months. π₯
Unfortunately there are absolutely no visitors allowed due to Covid circumstances, this means I won't be able to see and spend time with Mum and Dad whilst here at all and its down to me to do this alone. Except for the fact that I feel far from alone, the support from people, friends and family on here has been overwhelming and so so appreciated- THANK YOU! β€οΈ
I am feeling very thankful for FaceTime and modern technology at the moment, its keeping me close to not only my family but my wonderful animals too! π΄πΆ
Moving forwards, I'll be fed through my PICC line for the coming weeks to help me gain some strength and build up, whilst also receiving all of my regular potassium infusions via the line too. π§
For now though, here's a picture of me and my PN wearing it's iconic red dress πππ» (the red bag is to protect the formula from light.)
